This is where people set out to hurt themselves or damage their health deliberately, for many different reasons. Remember you are not alone and if you ever feel like hurting yourself, we’re here for you.
When it Becomes Too Much
Our Tips to Help
- Keep a diary and write down how you are feeling – this will also help you understand what triggers you to want to harm yourself
- Listen to your favourite music
- Talking to your good friends or family
- Breathe slowly – in for a count of 3 through the nose and out through the mouth for a count of 5. Continue doing this until you feel calmer
- If you feel angry- hit a pillow instead
- Do some exercise
- Draw on your body as an alternative
- Squeeze a stress ball or an ice cube
