Keep a diary and write down how you are feeling – this will also help you understand what triggers you to want to harm yourself
Listen to your favourite music
Talking to your good friends or family
Breathe slowly – in for a count of 3 through the nose and out through the mouth for a count of 5. Continue doing this until you feel calmer
If you feel angry- hit a pillow instead
Do some exercise
Draw on your body as an alternative
Squeeze a stress ball or an ice cube
